What happens when you pray this prayer?

Remove anything unlike you, not meant for me, veiled with ill-intent, overly self-serving, no longer serving a purpose, hindering your promises for me and others, draining my energy, sharing my gifts without an equitable exchange, stealing my joy and peace, and/or obstructing my vision holistically.

Friends become distant acquaintances.
Disruptors become visible.
The silence finds a voice.
The unknown becomes known.
The path becomes clearer.

This is not the end.
This is not the beginning.
This is a continuation.

What comes next is sure to amaze.

Day 208: It’s Been Awhile – Lessons Learned

I haven’t posted here in a while. Here are a few things my higher power has allowed me to experience holistically since then:

  • There is life after tragedy strikes.
  • It really does get better.
  • Your perspective dictates your prospectus on life.
  • There is power in silence.
  • You can’t quantify loyalty and you shouldn’t try to.
  • The more you live, the more things change.
  • Principles are fixed, but friendships are not.
  • There is strength in commonality.
  • Truth is in the eye of the beholder.
  • Simple is better.
  • There is a lesson in every experience.
  • Sometimes there’s a full course.
  • People will surprise you.
  • And, you will surprise people.
  • Survival is a state of being.
  • Living is a state of mind.
  • Integrity is more important than loyalty.
  • Love the people who love you.
  • Take note of the people who don’t.
  • Distance isn’t always bad, and closeness isn’t always good.
  • Kindred spirits are real.
  • I think I’ve identified mine.
  • Saying I’m sorry, is more about you than the other person.
  • An apology means nothing if the action doesn’t change.
  • There are no bad experiences.
  • There are only inadequate responses to those “bad experiences”.
  • Pay attention to how people treat you.
  • No response is an answer.
  • Stop explaining.
  • They don’t care.
  • Wishing is good.
  • Striving is better.
  • Action is greater.
  • Success requires a combination of dedication, the right connections, and lots of luck.
  • You can forgive and still remember.
  • Premonitions are real.
  • Losing a job really isn’t a loss when it forces you to find a career.
  • Apologize for how you said it, but not for what you meant, when you said it.
  • Hugs have healing power.
  • Death can knock, but you don’t have to answer.
  • Listen to your heart.
  • Speak from your mind.
  • Love through your soul.
  • Laugh.
  • Cry.
  • Laugh some more.
  • Strength is about more than muscle.
  • The best is yet to come.

Day 164 : Detached

/ EYHCS

I had to become attached so I could detached.

I had to let go of what held me back, before I could receive what called me forward.

I let those misconceived ideas fall by the wayside.

I let those preconceived opinions sail into the abyss.

I let it go.

I let it be.

For I knew I was born free.

For I knew I would be again.

I simply let it go.

And, I simply let it be.

Detached.

Day 150: Romance Me

Who is she?
What does she like?
Who does she like?
What does she want?
When does she want it?
Where did she pivot?
Why did she evolve?
How would you know?

When was the last time you spent any time learning the answers?

Your relationship with self is a mirrored image of your relationship with God the universe.

If you rely on others to cultivate your worth, what happens when their view changes?

Day 145: Completion

/ EYHCS

Sometimes it’s not as much about the reason as it is about the season.

I love cooking metaphors.

When the cake rises, take the cake out of the oven.

The oven has served its purpose and if you leave the cake in too long, it will burn.

Now that the cake is out, let it cool, and turn the oven off.

We often spend so much time and energy analyzing the reason a season has ended, instead of enjoying the fruits of the decision bringing it to completion.

The cake is done.

Cut the cake.

Eat the cake.

Share the cake.

Or save pieces of the cake for later, but the key is – the cake is done regardless of the steps taken to make it rise.

The reason may satisfy some embedded curiosity, but it will not un-bake the cake.

Day 59: Embedded Favor

This is why I love the story of Jesus. An unknown child from a perceived unknown town. Grows up with an unknown identity. And is revealed to be the known savior.

Poked and prodded he hung on a cross. The unknown savior was not shocked at their behavior. Yet, his resolve never wavered.

For he knew he had embedded favor.

The search engine of your soul doesn’t need a wildcard. It needs you.

When you search Google, you receive a list of results.

When you search God in you, you receive a list of solutions.

Day 323: Coordinated Elevation

You ever feel yourself shift. I am not referring to a physical movement, but a metaphysical one. It happens when the dots literally and figuratively start connecting almost imperceptibly.

One seemingly insignificant event propels you into action. Each subsequent action confirms the previous one. And, then it happens, coordinated elevation.

It is in that moment your vision expands and your knowledge awakens. Like a well-oiled machine, you began to level up. The shifting is so smooth, it’s almost imperceptible. Yet, your spiritual awareness allows you see the navigation happening as you move pass each level.

The skies open, the band plays, and the performers sings, it’s shifting time. Get ready, get ready, get ready!

If you haven’t trained your metaphysical being, you will miss it! If you have, your bags are already packed! So, lace-up your cross fits & enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Day 322: Strategic Expectations

You cannot get something from something that does not exist…I went to a buffet because I wanted O.J. I located grapefruit juice. It clearly stated grapefruit on the label. Why am I then surprised to find I’m holding a cup of grapefruit juice, instead of the orange juice I wanted?

It’s not the buffets fought. It had no part in my decision. The buffet table simply presented me with options. I looked at the labels and still choose the very thing I did not want or need.

It’s an open book test and the answers are highlighted.

The squandered chance. The sacrifice made. The nerves twisted. The bloodshed seeped through wounded bones.

Flash forward a thousand years. Everyone give your loudest cheer. The past is now in the rear. As evident by the single tear.

Yet, you query what has changed. How have you rearranged? Still wearing the same soiled skins. Still refusing to make amends.

The cost paid. The memories raid. The pain sears through chartered veins. No longer do you ride these lanes. For fear of releasing the pent-up reins.

Day 315: Abstract Vice

I wrote a book after just one look. It spoke of lemons and sweet lemonade. It smelled of honey and spice. It turned out cozy and warm as a bowl of sticky rice. All because you paid the price, trice, even after a – roll – of  – the – dice.

Day 312: Within

Freedom is easy when you dictate freedom’s manifestation. Making it an action that distorts the essence of its subject. An issue isn’t important until it’s your issue. A plight isn’t a plight until it’s your plight. The brawl isn’t a stance until it’s your degree of connection. All caught up in the misdirection. The prisoners have become both prisoners and wardens. Locked in your archaic thinking you ponder the enemies attack. Forgetting you share the same back.
